Re-shooting process 5x7 inches
Original piece: Aguas baldias, 1995 Manual Piña. National Museum of Cuban Art

I photographed a photo located in the National Museum of Cuban Art in Havana, Cuba. The original photograph talks about emigration, a recurring theme in Cuban art. I began a re-shooting process that consisted on taking a picture starting with the first printed image. The outcome is an abstraction compare to the original due to the lost of resolution during the process. This piece recreates the way museums function when, over time, they alter the meaning and original function of art.
